Emails received June, 2003 ____________________ Hi Sharon, My name is Cherie Tatge. My daughter, Larisa, who lives in Spain, forwarded your family's website to me because we are always on the lookout for anything associated with the Tatge name and because there seems to be so many connections between your family and hers. You see, she lives in Catalunya, her mother-in-law came from Manresa, and we believe my husband's family (her great great grandparents) came from Alsace Lorraine, which could have been German or could have been French at that time. We don't really know. We have thought it interesting that so many Catalan words have "atge" in them. So we have always joked we must be Catalan. Now we wonder if that is actually possible. My daughter lives near Barcelona and works in Barcelona. I have visited Manresa. What a small world it can be. I have sent a message to Laurent as well. I am hoping to hear from both of you. Sincerely, Cherie Tatge ____________________ Hello Sharon, It was so nice to hear from you. I have been corresponding with Laurent also. To answer your questions, I married a Tatge, who considers himself more German than anything, and my daughter who lives in Spain kept her name, which is the spanish way, so she is a Tatge. Her children's names are hyphenated with the father's name first. I have no photos of spanish Tatges or any knowledge of any spanish Tatges other than my daughter who has lived in Spain approx. 10 yrs. She is definitely not spanish, although she loves Spain. I, too, would love to hear of some spanish Tatges so feel free to post my letter. Who knows what might happen? I would love to hear about you and your family, so I hope you will email again. Bye, bye. Cherie
