Created and executed formal test plans and cases for complex storage networking product (iSCSI), working with minimal management supervision. Set up and maintained a testbed of heterogeneous file servers, Ethernet and Fibre Channel switches and Fibre Channel storage devices, networked with the product under test. . Worked closely with developers in product design phase, particularly in the areas of user interface, routing protocol and high availability. Provided formal test cases and test assistance to developers during unit and integration test. Wrote a suite of automated network stress tests, with extensive online documentation (HTML). Functioned as Project Lead for several product test cycles and as test liaison and onsite support to corporate partner and reseller of our product. Created and delivered new product training for iSCSI storage router. Training modules were recorded and placed online for companywide distribution.

Established the test department for a startup that designed and built the world’s first iSCSI storage router. Primary tester for a group of 8–10 developers who were responsible for software support of the ATM-based networks that provided DSL service to much of the Twin Cities. Performed acceptance testing for a complex ATM-provisioning system provided by a third party (Syndesis). Wrote the acceptance test plan, maintained and significantly extended a complex set of UNIX-based automated test cases. Executed all test cases, calculated performance metrics, produced test reports, and served as main contact with Syndesis program managers and support personnel.
